In November 2013 the Mayor’s Office for Police and Crime launched a new pan-London strategy for tackling violence against women and girls, which prioritises the need to develop a more holistic response to trafficking and prostitution.
The Dovetail Initiative aims to respond to this challenge by drawing connections in order to improve policy responses to prostitution. Our purpose is to equip those involved in responding to prostitution at a policy level with an understanding of prostitution and sexual exploitation that takes into account the experience of those involved, as well as examples of good practice and joined up working.
We seek to achieve this by providing consultancy to local authorities across London, creating a safe space to hear form individuals who have exited the sex trade, and developing means of preventing sexual exploitation. To find out more about our projects click here.
